If the school district in which you live or in which your child is being picked up in is closed and we are open, the bus company will not pick up your child. We hope you enjoyed your summer! Reminder that our first day back to school is Wednesday, September 9th, 2009. If your child takes the bus, the Bus Companies should be notifying you of your pick up and drop off time, and please be patients the first few weeks of school as they get their routes and schedules in order. For our parents that will drive their children to school - the hours are 9:00am - 2:00pm. July 09 Newsletter (click link to view newsletter)
OLMSTED’S EARLY EDUCATION PROGRAM RECEIVES GRANT
The Olmsted Center for Sight’s Early Education Program (formerly VIP) has been awarded a two year grant through the Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation (Tower Foundation). This grant allows the Early Education Program to find and train two individuals to become Teachers of the Visually Impaired which, historically has been a service in great demand.
As an agency that predominantly focuses on visual impairments and blindness, this is a large step towards being able to stand out in the community as the premier leader in vision services for children ages 0 through 5.
Congratulations are in order for those that put a lot of time and effort into making this award possible. Please acknowledge Teresa Doermer, Director of the Early Education Program; Melissa Schwab, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, Thomas J Constantine, Controller, Carol Nowak, Grant Writer; and of course our President, Dr. Ron Maier.
